Adiv Pure Nature is a Mumbai-based social venture that creates luxurious garments and accessories that fuse art, nature, tradition and innovation. Since Adiv’s inception seven years ago, founder Rupa Trivedi has focused on the use of natural dyes, some of which are coaxed from temple offerings like roses, marigolds and coconut, which would otherwise be swept away as waste. Through the use of those plant-derived dyes and a strict commitment to using natural materials (silk, fine cotton and wool) and partnerships with handloom weavers and block printers across India, Adiv strives to create an ever-widening sustainable fashion supply chain.

Trivedi’s background in engineering lent itself to the development of inventive dyeing techniques at the Adiv workshop, but that was only the beginning. Today, the force behind the organization is the hand-dyers themselves—a small group of self-taught, talented youngsters from challenging backgrounds in the city. Given trust and encouragement, their creativity is free to blossom into innovative new techniques that result in stunning, one-of-a-kind pieces
