Preserving Craft Tradings of Southeast Asia: Pop up sale

Date: Thursday, December 14, 2017
Time: 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM

In collaboration with Coopita, Malabar Chest & Khazana have come together to present a pop up sale of handmade, one of a kind textiles, clothing and accessories from the Batak Tribe in the Philippines, the Dayak Tribe in Indonesia, craftspeople in Central Sulawesi, and weavers of the Island of Savu.

Coopita seeks to change the perception of “Made in Asia” by showcasing the hand, faces and stories of makers working to preserve traditional Asian craft.

Co-founder, Mayur Singh, will give a brief background on the items for sale, including traditional practices used to craft the products, and the cultural stories behind the items, specifically highlighting the talented and dedicated craftspeople who made this all possible.

If you are searching for meaningful gifts with social impact, we can help you select gifts that give twice. All purchases directly support the craftspeople and help to preserve their art forms.
