Light Indigo Ajrakh Print Stole $145.00

Pure hand-woven Kutchi wool printed with different shades of indigo in the Ajrakh style. This stole was handwoven by Rajan Vankar, a Bhujodi weaver who lives and works in Kutch, Gujarat, India. Vankar collaborated with another artist in his community to create the Ajrakh print that adorns this stole.

Ajrakh refers to a technique of block-printing natural dyes onto cotton and silk fabric using intricate geometric patterns. This art form is unique to the Kutch region of Gujarat, India as well as the province of Sind, Pakistan.

Bhujodi weavers have long been important artisans in Kutch, responsible for creating stoles, scarves, and blankets for the pastoral Rabaris and other indigenous communities of the area.
